EPD-Norge and IGSC - Institute of Global Sustainability Certification, South Korea has signed an agreement for cooperation for EPD – Environmental Product Declarations.
This breakthrough agreement gives Korean companies a unique opportunity to publish EPDs via EPD Norway using EPD Norway’s already developed system.
South Korea is a long way from Norway, but environmental documentation, including EPDs, is also getting more and more important for Korean companies.
Korea has historically been at the forefront of EPDs for electronic and technical products, but now there is also a greater focus on construction materials and everything that is building material related and according to leading standard for construction materials EN15804.
This agreement gives in the start-up phase IGSC access to the EPD Norway`s well established system for developing, verifying, publishing, and approving EPDs. All EPDs will also be digital available through EPD-Norge Digi database and directly connected to European network for verified and approved environmental documentation.
Common intention and plans for the next phases are to further develop the Korean EPD market together, especially regarding establishing a pool of EPD developers and verifiers, implement EPD generation tools for the Korean market and further develop the digital cooperation.
