From the 9 th of June, GFFP (Gluten-Free Food Program Inc.) have announced they have an exclusive partnership in Korea with IGSC (Institute of Global Sustainability Certification) to provide gluten-free certification.
GFFP is the first gluten-free certification system in North America approved by the National Celiac Association (NCA) and developed by food industry experts. GFFP certification standards are set at 5 ppm of gluten content making them more stringent than any other certification body.
In particular, the gluten content standard is restricted to 5 ppm, which meets the world most stringent requirements. Other certification systems currently require a gluten content of only 20 ppm or 10 ppm.
By selecting the Audit Service Business Agreement for GFFP and Gluten-free certification,
IGSC will be directly audited by Korean domestic auditors instead of foreign auditors. This will reduce the time to get certified compared, to existing offers in the marketplace and significantly lowering certification costs.
Therefore, Korea export companies can obtain gluten-free certification easily and quickly through international sustainable certification.
Andrew Batten, Managing Director of GFFP, said, "I am so pleased we can now offer this service to Korean export companies that need to obtain gluten-free certification, it now simplifies the process by eliminating the need to obtain international auditors to come to Korea to check their processes. In the past this would have caused linguistic issues and added cost. Now, with our new partnership, this is a major step forward for Korean exporters who can get a certificate faster, easier at a reduced cost.”
IGSC goal is building a "One-step Certification program" to obtain food and cosmetics-related certification including; Gluten-Free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Lactose-free, Dairy-free, Caffein-free, Nuts free, Organic, Kyoshire, and others which can all be obtained at the same time.
